From L to R: Barbara Sueko McGuire, Asia David, me

Over the past 6 years, BUNCH has evolved into so much more than a magazine. I started it in my small apartment in New York City, born out of my admiration for this wild, crazy, happy, passionate and successful bunch of people I was interacting with. They were creative. They were merging their passions with their professions. They were radical. And I knew I had to tell their story. Initially, I thought we would simply spotlight these creatives. Eventually, I would come to realize that you, our audience, would want tools so you could write your own success stories. The result, a destination for creatives to be inspired while accessing sound business advice. More importantly, BUNCH became the cheerleader in your corner, telling you that you can do it when no one else understands.

Since 2011, we’ve had countless interviews, events, partnerships, you name it. Here we are today, growing and changing. Evolving is hard to do but it has to be done. It’s time for a new chapter, heck, maybe even a new book. Changes are coming to BUNCH and I hope that you’ll stick around to see what they are.

Personally, I’m a changed woman too. I’ve since moved from that apartment in NYC back to my roots in Los Angeles. I’ve gone from bootstrapping and barely scratching by to running a media company I can be proud of. I’ve had a few panicked nights, more than enough gray hair, but ultimately I’ve had so many more laughs and hugs with readers who have said, “Bunch is the magazine I never knew I needed.”

As for me, I’ll be letting my baby go to start a new company, YesRally. The decision wasn’t an easy one to make but I knew it needed to be done.

If you ever supported me, through a purchase, through a kind word, through a hug when you didn’t even know I needed it – thank you. To Barbara Sueko McGuire, the brilliant writer turned Features Editor who has been with Bunch from the humble beginning – thank you. To Asia David, the intern turned Creative Director who elevated Bunch to the next level – thank you.

I’ll be reporting live from this journal on what it takes to start a new company from ground zero so I hope you’ll stick with me to find out what that process entails. My mom and I never say "bye" to each other, we always say "talk to you later" because the implied permanence of a goodbye feels inappropriate. So with that, I say, talk to you later.

Signing off to carry on,

Lizzy
